What is CROA and how does it apply to my business?

The Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) is a federal law that governs how credit repair services must be marketed, sold, and delivered. If you offer credit repair services to consumers, CROA applies to you—even if you don’t call it “credit repair.”

What’s the difference between CROA and TSR?

CROA governs written contracts, disclosures, and service restrictions, while the Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) enforces the payment structure. TSR prohibits charging upfront fees when services are sold by phone unless specific requirements are met.
